Pastor James G. Dye Sr.

Pastor James G. Dye Sr. is a native of Miami, Fl. He is the seventeenth child of eighteen siblings (ten sisters and eight brothers).Born to the late Mr. Louis Dye and Mrs. Leila Dye (resides in Miami). He received his college education upon receiving his ordination in the A.M.E. (African Methodist Episcopal) church in October, 1996 as an elder.

Over the past twenty-four years, Pastor Dye has worked as an experienced management professional with a proven record of leadership at Baptist Hospital. With extensive experience in educational, healthcare program management, administrative leadership, and organizational partnerships, he has worked tirelessly for the past fifteen years to see the issues of violence prevention; men mentoring boys program, child advocacy, education and youth development, throughout the state of Florida and more specifically at Welcome Baptist, located in Oakland Park, Fl. One of his proudest accomplishments is being the founder and coordinator of St. Matthews A.M.E. Church which started out with just four members which rapidly grew numerically and spiritually. By October of 2000, Pastor Dye was led by the Lord to start St. Matthews Praise and Worship Center where he shepherd from 2000-2007. Moving on to become the Senior Pastor of Welcome Baptist Church, Oakland Park, Fl.

He has enjoyed working for diverse, community-focused organizations and building strategic alliances with public and private organizations. As a Baptist Hospital employee for most of his life, Pastor Dye has been afforded the opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ freely to fellow workers, colleagues, and the constituents he served.

Since 1988, Pastor Dye has served in ministry in various capacities and has had a passion for teaching people how to apply the Word of God in their everyday lives. For over nine years, he served faithfully at Martin Memorial A.M.E. Church where he received his call in the ministry and later worked as the youth minister, under the leadership of his father in the ministry, Reverend Michael L. Mitchell. In a short period of time, he was ordained as a minister, and elevated in ministry to walk in the purpose God placed over him.

Pastor Dye is the proud husband of Kia Barrow-Dye, father of Ashanti Higgs, Levar Higgs (son-in-law), James Dye Jr., Phillip Dye, and Marcus Dye and Brianna Johnson. He is also the auspicious grandfather of Isaiah Higgs, LJ Higgs, Jayla Dye,Damria Dye and Demarcus Dye.
